EA announces UEFA Euro 2024 update for all Sports FC games
Electronic Arts announces a European Championship update for all football games within the EA Sports FC franchise under a licensing deal with UEFA. EA Sports FC 24, FC Mobile and FC Online will receive the update in the summer of 2024, at the same time as the European Championship in Germany.
The publisher of the football games says in a press release that the football event should be ‘fully integrated’ into the EA Sports FC games, although it is not entirely clear how the event will be incorporated into the game. UEFA and EA also say they will enter into a partnership for all e-sports surrounding the football tournament. The European Championship will start on June 14, 2024 and then the update should also be released for the listed games, for all platforms on which the games are available.
Furthermore, EA promises that gamers who log into EA Sports FC 24 before January 16 will receive a non-tradable Ultimate Team football player. Players get Jack Grealish, Ousmane Dembélé, Federico Chiesa, Florian Wirtz, Virgil Van Djik or Alvaro Morata.
EA and UEFA have had licensing deals for some time, including for the Champions League brand name. The publisher terminated the agreement with FIFA last year and subsequently changed the name of the football franchise.
