The E3 game fair will return next year, both physically and online, says the director of the Entertainment Software Association. The game fair is organized annually by the ESA in Los Angeles, but has been canceled for the past few years due to the corona crisis.

In a interview ESA CEO Stan Pierre-Louis tells the Washington Post that he expects to host another E3 in 2023. He says the fair will take place in a ‘hybrid’ form, with both online events and a physical fair on location.

Pierre-Louis says in the interview that “we are excited to come back in 2023 with both a digital and physical event. While we also appreciate the digital events for their wide reach, we know that people are very eager to come together again, to to be able to see in person again to talk about games”.

E3 was also canceled this year, as it has been in the past three years due to Covid-19. The fair has been around since 1995 and game companies usually make major announcements about games and consoles.
