Dynabook announces thin 13.3″ laptop weighing 870 grams

Dynabook has announced a Portégé laptop with a tenth-generation Intel CPU. The laptop is very thin and mainly aimed at business users. Exact configurations of the laptop are currently unknown.

The Portégé X30L is a notebook with a screen diagonal of 13.3 inches. The device weighs 870 grams. The laptop has an igzo LCD display with full HD resolution made by Sharp. The display also has a brightness of 470cd/m².

The laptop comes with tenth-generation Intel U-series chips and the processor is up to a hexacore. There are also ‘a large number of options’ for the shape and amount of SSD storage. Buyers can choose from among others sata, pci-e or Intel’s own Optane. Further information such as how much RAM will be in the laptop is not yet known. Dynabook does say that the laptop will receive support for Quick Charge, with which the battery can be charged in half an hour and can last for four hours. In total, the battery can last 14.5 hours. The laptop will have a USB-C port for both charging the laptop and for connecting external displays, but there are also an HDMI port and two USB 3.0 ports.

The laptop supports 802.11ax, also known as WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.0. The device also has a gigabit Ethernet port. In addition, there is a fingerprint scanner and there is support for Windows Hello and Intel Authenticate for biometric authentication.

Dynabook has been the new name of Toshiba Client Solutions, the former PC division of Toshiba, since January 1, 2019. Sharp took over that division on October 1, 2018. The laptop will be available from February 2020, in the US the device costs from $1600. A euro price has not yet been announced.
