Dune: Spice Wars is getting an update that adds multiplayer
Developer Shiro Games has released a major update for Dune: Spice Wars that adds multiplayer support. The 4X game is based on the Dune universe and is available on Steam as an early access title.
In a explanation on the update, Shiro Games reports that it is now possible to play rounds in which two players compete against two other players. The free-for-all mode allows for up to four players. This is the first major update since the game became available as a Steam Early Access title at the end of April.
Players can choose from the Atreides, Harkonnen, Fremen or the Smugglers and if the maximum number of players is not reached, those gaps will be filled by factions controlled by the AI. The difficulty of the AI can be set and players can also adjust all kinds of other things, such as the size of the playing field and the activity of sandworms.
In addition to the addition of multiplayer, the developer says that the development trees have been improved so that there is more synergy between the different factions. Also, more regions, events and political solutions are now available.
