Dropbox announces Family plan for sharing storage space with family members
Storage service Dropbox has announced a Family plan that allows family members to share storage space and use several other Dropbox features together. Families are given the same amount of space in total as an individual paying user.
All Dropbox accounts under the family will have access to a shared Family Space to organize files, the company reports. For the family members, this amounts to 2TB of storage space, the same amount as an individual user gets on his own with a subscription. Each family member also gets their own folders to store files.
In addition, all family members get access to additional features of Dropbox, such as the password manager, extra security for certain files via Vault and offline folders on mobile. The family subscription is available immediately, also in the Benelux. Dropbox charges EUR 16.99 per month if users pay in advance for a year at once. When paying per month it costs 19.99 per month. The individual subscription is 9.99 euros per month.
