It has been quiet around Angel ‘Omegadrive’ Trinidad for a while, but yesterday he released a new version of his Omega Catalyst drivers. They have been given version number 3.8.273 and are based on the official 6.7 release from ATi. The Omega drivers contain several tweaks to ATi’s drivers that should keep the computer more stable while trying to increase image quality and get some extra frames per second in games. Furthermore, Multires and a modified version of the ATi Tray Tools are also included to complete the tweaker’s party. An Omega release based on ATi’s 6.6 drivers never saw the light of day as Angel had problems with this version in combination with the soft mods he always ships. What exactly that problem was has not been disclosed and although the problem has not yet been solved, this time he has a so-called ‘workaround‘ found it. • Based on the Catalyst 6.7 Official drivers.
• Added some fixes for x300/x600 chipsets on laptops.
• Updated to Multires 1.57.

Known issues:

• Some of the settings for both D3D & OGL will not be synchronized between ATT and the normal ATI CP, you must only use one of them to make changes, the best option is to use ATT since the ATI CP does not support changes to AI and in order to use the advanced D3D/OGL features. Changes made in ATT will work on games and such but the changes will not be reflected in the normal ATI CP since ATI stores the registry values ​​that the CP reads separate from the actual values ​​in the registry.

Important Info:

• Since these drivers include a non-standard version of ATT, I would recommend that if you have any previous version of ATT installed, please uninstall it before installing these drivers, not doing so may cause unknown problems.
