Download Driver For nVidia ForceWare 77.77

nVidia has released new drivers for some of its video card models. These are new ForceWare WHQL drivers that have been given version number 77.77 and are intended for the graphics cards from the TNT, Quadro and GeForce series. The company’s developers have baked two variants of the 77.77 release: the first download only works on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, while the second package compiled for Windows XP x64 and Windows Server 2003 x64.

The developers of nVidia have, according to the release notes (pdf file) made a number of performance tweaks to the SLI handling, specifically aimed at improving anti-aliasing for games played with SLI. For Half-Life 2, certain bug fixes have also been fixed in the driver core. In addition to this small amount of bug fixes, the GeForce 7800 GT and the GeForce 6600 and 6600 LE are now supported in SLI format. The full list of changes looks like this:

Issues Resolved in Version 77.77

• GeForce 7800 GTX, SLI: Using Half-Life 2’s screen capture function causes the screen to jitter within the game.
  The problem would disappear if you reloaded the save point or changed video settings to cause a video restart.
• GeForce 7800 GTX, SLI : Using the built-in screenshot function of third party applications may cause errors.
  This was seen in FRAPS and Hypersnap.
• GeForce 7800 GTX, SLI : SLI AA does not work with Half-Life 2
