For its video cards, nVidia has released a new set of beta drivers in the ForceWare series. These work on Windows Vista, both on the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The drivers have since arrived at version number 169.12. Fixed a minor bug with the GeForce 8800 GT that caused problems when waking the system from standby or hibernation. The list of changes looks like this:

Version 169.12 beta:

Fixed Issues – Windows Vista 32- & 64-bit – Single-GPU:

  • GeForce 8800 GT: Blue‐screen crash occurs upon resume from Standby or Hibernate mode. [368871]

Version 169.09 beta:

Fixed Issues – Windows Vista 32-bit – Single GPU:

  • Crysis Single Player Demo– Water reflections appear stretched. [364024]
  • GeForce 8800 GTX: The DVI display cannot be set to an HD format if it is the secondary Clone mode display. [327255 ]
  • GeForce 8800 GTX: Unreal Tournament 3– the driver crashes after the user switches in and out using Alt+Tab from the main menu. [355787]

Fixed Issues – Windows Vista 32- & 64-bit – Single-GPU:

  • GeForce 7150/7050: Changes in the NVIDIA Control Panel Manage 3D settings -> Global Settings page are not preserved after closing and reopening the control panel. [365886]

Fixed Issues–Windows Vista 64-bit – SLI Mode:

  • GeForce 8800 GT: The SLI output drop down menu lists more displays than are attached to the system. [355064]
