Anyone who uses an nVidia video card in his 64-bit Linux computer can get a new driver for his graphics board. The release contains a number of important changes. For the first time there is support for nVidia’s Linux Update technology has been added so that upgrading drivers should be a lot easier. The newest members of the GeForce and Quadro series are now also supported:

  • Added support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0.
  • Added support for GLX_SGI_swap_control.
  • Reduced CPU usage when OpenGL applications are syncing to vblank.
