The action RPG Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be available on January 17 next year. That means that from that moment on, players on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, for example, can take on the role of Goku.

During the Tokyo Game Show 2019, Bandai Namco announced the release date and a new trailer came out. The new game is not so much a fighting game, but more an action game with the necessary RPG elements. Players can explore the world while flying and for example play as Gohan or experience quite a large part of the events of Goku’s life. Frieza and Vegeta will also visit, as will a new character named Bonyu.

The RPG element and character development is the main thing that distinguishes Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot from the previous title in the series, Dragon Ball FighterZ. This game was released early last year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows and also came out for the Nintendo Switch in September. As of yet, no Switch version of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has been announced.
