Dota Underlords beta is available on Steam and for Android and iOS
Valve has released a public beta version of Dota Underlords on Steam and the mobile version is also available for Android and iOS. The game is its own version of the popular Dota 2 mod Auto Chess.
The public beta will follow a week after the game’s announcement. Valve was already testing with owners of the Dota 2 Battle Pass, but the beta is now available to everyone. Dota Underlords can be found on Steam, the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store. The game works on devices with Android 5.0 or newer and the iPhone and iPad version requires iOS 11.
Dota Underlords is an official version of the existing Dota 2 mod Auto Chess. That mod has nearly nine million subscribers in the Steam Workshop. The strategic game takes place on a chessboard, with the heroes from Dota 2 instead of chess pieces. It is a tactical game with automated battles between the heroes that players use. The strategy lies in making combinations and achieving mutual synergy between the chosen heroes.
Drodo Studio, the creator of the Dota Auto Chess mod, is also working on its own standalone version of the game. It will be released later this year on the Epic Games Store. Valve has tried to establish a partnership with Drodo, but the parties have not come to an agreement.
