Doom on the mini computer Intel Edison
A handy programmer has managed to get the ‘primal shooter’ Doom working with the help of a few accessories on the Edison, a compact computer module from Intel based on an Atom CPU.
Although the Edison is slightly larger than a postage stamp, the processor has two Atom cores, each running at 500MHz. Together with 1GB of RAM, the hardware is more than enough to get Doom up and running – the famous shooter can even run on a printer – but the connection with a separate 2.8″ TFT screen, a wireless PS4 controller and a separate speaker show that the Edison has the potential to become a very nice and versatile crafting platform.
