Doom Eternal is getting a second single player expansion: The Ancient Gods, Part 2. Images of which can be seen in a trailer. It is the final chapter in the Doom Slayer saga that started in 2016. In the expansion, the player will face new demons.

The Ancient Gods, Part 2 follows the first part of The Ancient Gods, in which the player takes on the Dark Lord, the great boss of Hell. The game follows the Doom Slayer saga that started with Doom in 2016. The trailer, which is age-appropriate, shows that the game is getting a good dose of fantasy influences. For example, the main character flies on a dragon and has to fight against divine warriors in the world of World Spear.

The trailer also shows off some new demons. The Armored Baron gets a new outfit and a powerful new attack. The Stone Imp has a thicker skin and The Cursed Prowler is also introduced.

The player also gets new toys, a Sentinel Hammer that produces a large shock wave that stuns large enemies and pulverizes small demons. Dazed enemies now also drop ammunition. In conversation with PC Gamer, game developer Hugo Martin says that this second part of The Ancient Gods is easier than the previous part, and has a less steep difficulty curve. This is mainly due to the introduction of the Sentinal Hammer. The DLC will be released March 18.
