Marty Stratton, who leads Doom Eternal development at id Software, announced at QuakeCon 2018 that the new shooter will allow players to invade another’s campaign as a Demon.

The new option was briefly seen at the end of a lengthy demo of the game shown at QuakeCon 2018. According to Stratton, a player can take the form of a Demon and invade another player’s campaign. Players can even form a group and collectively invade another player’s campaign.

The other player must have indicated that he is open to such an attack. Whether you can indicate that you only want to be attacked by friendly players is not yet known. It is also not yet clear which skills the player will receive when Demon invades a game. Doom Eternal will be released in Spring 2019 for Windows and consoles.

Publisher Bethesda announced Doom Eternal just before this year’s E3 and showed the first images during the game fair. During QuakeCon, developer id Software made it clear that the game is not only set on Earth and Hell, but also in several new locations. For example, a level was shown in which the player travels to the Mars moon Phobos.
