Dontnod working on RPG Vampyr
The French developer Dontnod starts a second development team, with which it works on Vampyr, an RPG set just after the First World War. Details about the game are still scarce. It is not known on which platforms the game will appear.
The French studio’s RPG, which debuted with Remember Me in 2013, is being marketed by Focus Home Interactive and was announced at a publisher’s event. The attendees were given a presentation of the game. To notify the outside world of the game’s existence, the publisher sent a tweet into the world. Only the title and genre are revealed in it.
An employee of The Sixth Axis, present at the event, released some more information. For example, the game takes place in the period just after the First World War and the player steps into the shoes of a doctor. He is bitten by one of his patients and turns into a vampire. After that, the doctor is faced with difficult choices; will he save lives or inflict casualties?
Vampyr is the second project the French studio is working on. Earlier this year, it was announced that Dontnod is also producing the episodic Life Is Strange, which will be marketed by Square Enix. Dontnod hired a second development team to work on both games. It is not known when they will be released on the market. Life Is Strange will be released for Windows, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. It is not known for which platforms Vampyr will appear.
