Donor site Patreon raises rates for page holders next week

Donor site Patreon will implement the previously announced increase in rates for page holders next week. For current Patreon page holders, nothing will change for the time being, because they will continue to pay 5 percent. Nothing will change for donors either.

Beginning May 7, people who open a new page on Patreon will be given a choice of three plans. The Patreon Lite variant does not have an option to charge donors more in exchange for more merchandise, content, or access. There is only one price that donors can pay. The current subscription will be called Patreon Pro, while successful page holders who pay more than $300 per month to the company can take Premium with more support from Patreon.

Patreon announced the changes in March, but they will take effect next week. Anyone who has a page before May 6 will continue to pay 5 percent. This also applies to new users of the Lite variant. Patreon Pro users contribute 8 percent of their earnings to Patreon, and Premium pays 12 percent. Nothing changes for donors.

Patreon is a site where creators, often artists, musicians, illustrators or creators of podcasts or videos, can ask for a monthly financial contribution. People who want to support them often get benefits in return, such as access to exclusive content.
