Docker reports data of 190,000 Hub users may have been stolen

Docker has indicated that hackers may have penetrated a database, gaining access to user data. The company estimates that approximately 190,000 customers have been affected.

According to Docker’s logs, there was unauthorized access to a Hub database on April 25, where the company claims to have stored “non-financial” data. Shortly after discovery, Docker says it has secured the server and additional security measures have been taken. That information is contained in an email sent to customers shortly after the hack. It should be noted that the investigation into the hack has not yet been concluded.

In the meantime, however, the hackers are said to have gained access to the personal data of some 190,000 Hub users. In addition, usernames and encrypted passwords may have fallen into the hands of the burglars. Tokens for Github and Bitbucket may also have been stolen. Docker asks users to revoke those tokens, but also to change the password of Hub accounts.
