Images and information have appeared on Twitter about a possible new variant of the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. The new variant of the existing DJI drone would be a lot quieter thanks to new propellers, among other things.

The new drone would have propellers with a shape that produces less noise. New motor controllers would also be used, Dronewatch reports based on a tweet with Chinese information. More details are not yet available and it is unclear whether the new model will actually come.

DJI appears to refer to the drone as “Phantom 4 Pro v2.0” in its documentation, but any new model may eventually have a Platinum designation in its name. Earlier, a Platinum version was launched for the Mavic Pro, which is significantly quieter than its predecessor.

The original Phantom 4 Pro was introduced in November 2016. The model is in fact an improved version of the Phantom 4. For example, the Pro model could film in 4k resolution up to 60fps with a maximum bitrate of 100Mbit/s, while the Phantom 4 did not go beyond a bitrate of 60Mbit/s.
