DJI introduces a Pro variant of its Mavic 3 drone. This Mavic 3 Pro gets, among other things, an extra camera compared to the ‘regular’ Mavic 3 drone and is available from DJI from 2099 euros. The company also comes with a Cine variant for 4599 euros. DJI will deliver the drone from May.

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro gets a three-sensor Hasselblad camera setup, all mounted on the same gimble for three-axis image stabilization. The Pro version therefore has one camera more than the previous Mavic 3. Each camera has a different focal point. According to DJI, the new sensor is a ‘medium-telephoto camera’ with a focal length of 70mm and a resolution of 48 megapixels. The lens has a fixed aperture of f/2.8.

The remaining two cameras from the DJI Mavic 3 are reused in the Pro. The primary 4/3 camera sensor again has a resolution of 20 megapixels and has a dynamic range of 12.8 stops, according to DJI. The lens has a focal length of 24mm and an adjustable aperture from f/2.8 to f/11. The drone also gets a telephoto camera with a 166mm lens and 12-megapixel resolution, but in the Pro variant it is equipped with a slightly wider aperture of f/3.4.

The primary camera can record videos at 5.1k resolution and a frame rate of 50fps. That camera can also shoot 120fps slow-motion footage in 4k. The new 70mm camera can record 4k60 images. The 166mm camera also supports 4k recordings at 60fps this time. According to DJI, the drone can fly for 43 minutes on a full battery. DJI is also introducing a Cine version of the Mavic 3 Pro. It is broadly the same as the regular Pro variant, but supports Apple ProRes encoding and comes with a built-in 1TB SSD for recordings.

The new drone also gets DJI O3+ for the connection between the drone and the controller. This offers a maximum range of 15 kilometers and can set up a live feed of 1080p60. This is possible with the RC and RC Pro controller. The Mavic 3 Pro is available from DJI from 2099 euros and comes with a DJI RC controller for that amount. There will also be a Fly More bundle with extra batteries and nd filters for 2799 euros. A Fly More variant with Pro controller costs 3499 euros. The Cine variant of the Mavic 3 Pro will be available for 4599 euros. The drone will be delivered from May.
