DJI Introduces Foldable Osmo Stabilizer for Smartphones
DJI has announced the third generation of its Osmo stabilizer for smartphones. The Osmo Mobile 3 has a new design and can be folded for easier carrying.
The additional hinge in the arm of the Osmo Mobile 3 makes it foldable, so that the device can be carried and stored compactly. Furthermore, the design of the gimbal is almost identical to that of the Osmo Mobile 2, which DJI introduced at the beginning of last year.
One change concerns the position of the shielded USB-a port; it has moved from the back to the side of the lever. In addition, usb-c is now available instead of micro-usb for charging and the accessory supports bluetooth 5.0 instead of bluetooth 4.0. The weight is also lower at 405 grams compared to 485 grams for the Osmo 2. The battery time is unchanged at fifteen hours.
Pressing the Mode button twice causes the orientation of the image to change from portrait to landscape and the slider for zooming is still on the side. The stabilizer works in conjunction with DJI’s Mimo app, which supports gesture control and ActiveTrack 3.0, among other things. The latter function makes it possible to track objects and people thanks to image recognition.
The price of the Osmo Mobile is 109 euros and the price includes a wristband and storage bag. For 129 euros, the user gets a tripod and storage box.
