DJI announces Mini 2 with 31 minutes of flight time and range of six kilometers
DJI has announced a new small drone. The Mini 2 is a successor to the earlier Mavic Mini and can fly longer and further. The camera also has a higher resolution and photos can be shot in RAW.
The DJI Mini 2 has a battery of 2250mAh, which gives the device a flight time of 31 minutes on a full battery. That is one minute longer than its predecessor. Like other DJI drones, the Mini 2 uses OcuSync to connect the drone to the controller. OcuSync uses the 2.4GHz or 5.8GHz band, which allows the drone to fly further. The European version of the drone can fly six kilometers, compared to the four kilometers of its predecessor. The international version can reach ten kilometers, but that does not work in Europe.
When folded, the drone has a size of 138x81x58mm, and the device weighs 249 grams. The drone works with micro-SD cards up to 256GB.
The drone has a 1 / 2.3 “CMOS sensor with 12 megapixels, with a field of view of 83 degrees. The drone can shoot photos with a maximum quality of 4000×3000 pixels, and make videos at 30fps in 4k videos. In full -hd, the camera can record video at 60fps, the photos can be saved on the new drone in RAW format.
Information about the drone came out last week through an unboxing video. The drone is for sale immediately and costs 459 euros. The controller is also included with that purchase. For 599 euros, customers can also purchase additional batteries and propeller with the device.
Update: initially it said that the drone could fly 10 kilometers, but that is not possible in Europe.
