Distributor Shows Prices of Ninth Generation Intel Core Processors
A distributor from Singapore has included the ninth generation Intel Core processors in its price list. The price of the i9-9900K is converted 417 euros. Presumably, the price for consumers is higher due to margins and taxes.
The prices were noticed by a Reddit user. It is likely that these are the official prices, they are quite in line with the prices of current processors. These are prices from a large distributor, VAT will probably still have to be added and the prices in stores will ultimately be higher.
It looks like the Core i7-9700K will cost about the same as the current Core i7-8700K. The new model has eight cores, two more than the i7-8700K, but no HyperThreading. The i9 with eight cores and HyperThreading is about 28 percent more expensive than the i7.
Currently, the i7-8700K costs about 350 euros. A retail price of about 450 euros for the i9 seems plausible. The ninth-generation Core processors already appeared in the Pricewatch last month, but the higher prices shown then were probably placeholders. In the meantime, the price indications at the relevant stores have also been removed.
Intel is likely to announce the ninth generation of its Core processors in October. That’s on a roadmap that was leaked earlier. It is not yet clear whether the i3 model with four cores will also be released immediately. According to the roadmap, this primarily concerns the models with six and eight cores.
