Dishonored will be released as a tabletop RPG
Modiphius Entertainment is working on a paper version of Dishonored. The publisher hopes to release the tabletop RPG this summer. The creators teamed up with Harvey Smith, creative director of the original games.
Modiphius, a company specializing in tabletop RPGs, is collaborating with publisher Bethesda and developer Arkane Studios for the Dishonored Roleplaying Game. It was especially helped by Harvey Smith, who is credited as the co-creative director of the studio and largely responsible for the gameplay of the series. A team of writers was put together with Smith to create stories set in the universe of the series. That is, players return to the Empire of the Isles and Dunwall. It is not known whether well-known characters will return in the RPG.
Modiphius based the rpg on its own 2d20 System, which it slightly adapted for the new game. The new rules were created by Nathan Dowdell, who also wrote the rules for Modiphius’ RPGs Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of and Star Trek Adventures. Dowdell tries to bring out the strange powers from the Void in the RPG, as well as the Chaos properties, and has come up with the new Momentum system for that. The RPG is published as a book of three hundred pages. Players can take on roles in the game as assassin, criminal, explorer and loyalist. In addition to the book, dice, cards and other accessories also appear.
