Discord will pull the plug on AI chatbot Clyde on December 1

Discord will discontinue its AI chatbot Clyde on December 1. After that date, users will no longer be able to invoke the bot in group messages, private messages, or server chats. It is not known why Discord will stop using the bot.

On the support page from Clyde states that the bot can no longer be used from December 1. In March, Discord announced it was using OpenAI technology to provide Clyde with more features, such as answering questions, sending GIFs and recommending music.

The intention was for the chat platform to “continue testing and improving the bot so that Clyde quickly became a fundamental part of the Discord experience.” Discord doesn’t mention why it’s discontinuing the AI ​​bot. It is also unknown whether Discord plans to introduce a new bot.
