Discord voice chat will be available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S starting Tuesday. This new functionality allows users to use the voice channels in the Discord app on their consoles.

To use Discord voice chat on Xbox, users do need the Xbox app on their phone, writes the company on its website. In addition, the Discord account must be linked to the Xbox account. This can be done in Discord under the heading ‘Connections’ of ‘User settings’. On the Xbox console, this option is under Linked Social Accounts.

When everything is set up properly, users can use Discord’s voice channels to talk to friends while gaming. A conversation started on mobile or PC first can then be switched to the user’s Xbox.

Sony has now also announced Discord voice chat for the PlayStation 5. It is not yet known when this functionality will be available. The latest rumor is that Sony says the functionality will be added in the “coming months.”
