Discord offers subscribers separate avatars per server

Discord Nitro subscribers can create separate avatars per server, the chat company has announced. Until now it was only possible to change the name per server, but not the avatar.

The feature will be available from Tuesday during the day, Discord says. Only Nitro subscribers can set an avatar per server. Other users can only change the nickname per server. Nitro Classic users also don’t get the avatars per server, Discord says. The feature is capped at one avatar per server, while Nitro users can sit on 200 servers. The feature only works on desktop.

According to The Verge, Discord will also be rolling out a “scheduled events” feature, which will allow server administrators to announce events on the Discord server. Discord has been testing that feature with “partners” since this summer, but now the feature should be available on all servers. It is not yet known when that feature will be available on all servers.
