The digital version of Forza Motorsport 7 will no longer be for sale from September 15. The game will also be removed from the Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft stops sales due to expiring license agreements. Current owners of the game can continue to play.

As of September 15, Forza Motorsport 7 will receive End of Life status, Microsoft writes. The game and all DLC will then no longer be for sale in the Microsoft Store. Old stock of physical copies can still be bought and played. Gamers who bought the game online will also be able to download it from the Microsoft Store after September. On Twitter late the Forza Motorsport account know that the game is going off digital shelves due to expiring license agreements.

Multiplayer and other online services of the game will also continue to be available after September; Microsoft will also continue to provide Rivals with additional races. Xbox Game Pass players who have purchased Motorsport 7 DLC but never purchased the game itself will receive a Motorsport 7 token through the Xbox Message Center. These tokens will be released on August 2.

The fact that Microsoft is stopping the sale of Forza Motorsport 7 is not unique; for example, last year the company stopped selling Forza Horizon 3 digitally. Horizon 3 appeared in 2016 and also has a successor with Forza Horizon 4. The striking difference, however, is that Motorsport 7 does not yet have a successor. Developer Turn 10 Studios is working on a successor, although a release date has never been mentioned. A Forza Horizon 5 will be released this November.
