The ‘movie vault’ annex the DRM system UltraViolet will no longer be supported from 31 July. The service recommends that users verify the providers their library is connected to before the closing date. After the closing date, the libraries are no longer accessible.

For verification, Ultraviolet redirects users to the providers, such as Paramount or Sony Pictures. Libraries do not have to be disconnected, because the service works together with the providers ‘to provide optimal and continuous access to films and TV series’. Until July 31, the service will not change. Until that date, users can still redeem codes and watch movies from their library.

Ultraviolet is a project of sixty companies from the entertainment industry and was released in 2010. It involved a DRM system, where consumers who have purchased a physical copy of the film can also use it on another device, such as a PC, smartphone or console. can watch digitally. By entering a code supplied, the film is registered and ends up in the ‘digital safe’ of the registered user.
