Diablo IV gets cosmetic microtransactions
Players will be able to purchase cosmetic items in Diablo IV, the game Blizzard is currently working on. The cosmetic microtransactions come in addition to seasonal content and expansions for the game.
Diablo IV will be available as a “base game,” in the words of lead designer Joe Shely, with expansions coming. Shely said that in an interview with Twitch streamer Quin69, Pcgamesn writes. Then he said, “You will also be able to get cosmetics in the game.”
Quin69’s question as to whether that means there will be microtransactions and some kind of shop, the designer answers in the affirmative, but he does state that it is still ‘early’, probably to indicate that the plans have not yet crystallized. He further stated that it is not about selling power, which makes it appear that it is only about cosmetic transactions.
Blizzard announced Diablo IV at its Blizzcon event. Diablo IV will be released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at an unknown date, but according to Blizzard, the release is not expected anytime soon.
