Diablo IV beta spotted in code Battle.net
Configuration files from the upcoming Diablo IV beta were found in the code of the Battle.net launcher. This, coupled with a recent tattoo campaign, may indicate that Blizzard is releasing a test version of the upcoming RPG in the near future.
The configuration files make multiple references to “fenris,” the codename Activision Blizzard uses internally for Diablo IV. Including the code “selector_display_name”:”fenris#FENRIS_NAME_BETA” explicitly refers to the Diablo IV beta. With the files erases wowhead even bring up the game’s installation screen, even though the game can’t actually be downloaded or installed.
Although Blizzard has not yet announced an official date for the beta of Diablo IV, it is certain that there will be a test version, according to the official game website. In addition, the developer organized a promotion at the end of June, Hell’s Ink, in which free Diablo tattoos are given away in collaboration with select tattoo parlors. Participants can Earn early access to a beta of Diablo IV. They will also receive a free digital copy of the game. Hell’s Ink runs through September 10, which probably indicates that the beta won’t kick off until then.
Diablo IV itself also doesn’t have an official release date yet. The game has been delayed several times and will be released in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
