Diablo Immortal launches June 2 for Android and iOS and as a beta for PC

Blizzard will release smartphone game Diablo Immortal on June 2. The developer is also announcing a PC version, which will include crossplay and cross-progression support. The PC version will be available as an open beta on release day.

By also releasing a PC version, the game can reach as many people as possible, said director Wyatt Cheng in a live stream announcing the release date. The PC version is based on the smartphone game; it is not a standalone version. The smartphone version had already added controller support in a beta, and the PC version will get that too. In addition, the PC version can be controlled with keyboard and mouse.

According to Cheng, Diablo Immortal the ‘biggest and most ambitious’ Diablo game to date. The smartphone game will have six classes for players to choose from and the story takes place in eight zones in a timeline between Diablo II and Diablo III. The game will be free to play and will contain microtransactions. Blizzard is also working on Diablo IV for consoles and PC, but it is not yet clear when that game will be released.
