Development of open source e-mail app FairEmail continues
The development of open source e-mail app FairEmail continues anyway. FairEmail may be available again in the Play Store soon, but it is not yet known when. The app was removed from the app store by Google last week for unclear reasons.
Initially, the developer did not want to continue developing FairEmail. He cited the many negative reviews and the strict, unclear requirements of Google as the reason for stopping the development of the email app.
The developer is now coming back to that and writes on the forum of XDA that he “had a good conversation with Google.” According to Google, the problem lay with the lack of information in the privacy policy, which did not specify what personal data might be sent to servers and when. The developer has amended the privacy policy to meet the requirements. He is also in the process of submitting a modified version of the FairEmail app to the Play Store and Github.
FairEmail is a alternative email client for Android device users. FairEmail does not collect data from users and is therefore popular among Android users who want to use Google as little as possible on their phone.
