Developers release demo of Sonic 2 remake
A demo of Sonic 2 HD has been released, which can be played on Windows systems. It is a remake of the popular game Sonic 2, which was already released in 1992 for the Sega Genesis, although it is an unofficial version.
The demo can be downloaded from the Sonic 2 HD website, and the developers recommend running the software on a Windows 7 system with at least an Intel Core i5 2500 with a GeForce GTX 650 1GB, and at least 4GB of ram. 400MB of storage space is required to accommodate the game on the PC.
In Sonic 2 HD, players can choose Sonic or Tails to walk through the worlds. Emerald Hill, Chemical Plant and Hill Top zones are available. The developers recreated the worlds with the SonicOrca engine, allowing for higher resolutions and adding additional functionality to the original game.
It is not the first time that a remake of the popular retro game has been released. Previously, developers released versions for Nintendo consoles, for Android and iOS, and for PlayStation and Xbox.
