Developers have managed to add additional games to the NES Mini Classic. By default, the retro console comes with thirty games, but by circumventing the security it would have already managed to run around sixty games.

Two developer groups, one from Russia and one from Japan, have managed to add additional game support after bypassing the security of the NES Classic Mini. That’s according to a thread on Reddit that is intended for modding the console. Instructions have already appeared online to add games to the NES Classic Mini, although users must provide the ROM files themselves.

As standard, Nintendo supplies the console with thirty games, including a number from the Mario series. Since developers managed to circumvent the security of the system recently, it was already expected that the number of supported games would be expanded.

Nintendo released the NES Classic Mini about two months ago. It is a new version of the NES console that was very popular in the 1980s. The games are also played with the same controllers as in the original version.
