Developer Wolfenstein: The New Order Releases New Episode for Quake
Machine Games, the developer of Wolfenstein: The New Order, has released a new episode for the game in honor of Quake’s 20th anniversary. The classic fps expansion is free to download.
To play the episode created by Machine Games, gamers must own Quake. The extension is contained in a 5.3MB rar file, which can be downloaded via Twitter to download. The mod can be played by extracting the files into a new folder called DOPA, in Quake’s directory. From within the game, the new episode, which contains several levels, can be started with the console command ‘game dopa’.
Earlier this week, John Romero put old screenshots and documents online to celebrate Quake’s 20th anniversary. Quake’s official birthday was last Wednesday; the game was released on June 22, 1996. At E3, publisher Bethesda and developer id Software announced that work is underway on Quake Champions. This new game focuses on the multiplayer part.
