Developer releases Xposed framework for Android 6.0

A version of the Xposed framework for Android 6.0 has been released. The developer announced last week that the release was imminent and on Sunday he put version 78 of its framework to enable advanced tweaks online.

Xposed 78 has been released in multiple variants, including versions for Android 6.0, 5.1 and 5.0, which the developer identifies with the version numbers of the SDK: 23, 22 and 21. In addition, users must have the correct version for the processor in their phones: ARM , ARM64 or x86. The ARM version is for devices based on ARMv7 architecture, such as the Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and OnePlus One. The ARM64 version is for processors on ARMv8 architecture, which supports 64bits, such as the Nexus 5x and 6p and virtually all other high-end and midrange phones from 2015.

Developer rovo89 reports a bug in stock roms on Samsung phones. There are unofficial versions that fix this. There are also issues with certain firmwares on Sony phones, but the developer doesn’t specifically mention them.

Xposed is a plugin framework for modules that enable advanced tweaks on Android phones. For example, there are modules to set the language per application, to set themes in WhatsApp and to hide the fact that a user has root access to run apps that refuse to function with root. In total, the repository contains 735 modules.
