Independent game developer Zombie Studios is closing its doors after more than twenty years. One of the best-known titles to have come out of the studio in recent years is Blacklight: Retribution. From the studio arises the company Builder Box, which takes over the employees.

The game studio was founded more than twenty years ago, but the first games only came on the market a year later. It concerned the games Ice & Fire and Locus. That happened at the time under the name Zombie LLC. Between 1999 and 2004, the company continued as Zombie Inc, but that was later changed back to Zombie Studios.

In more than twenty years, Zombie Studios has contributed to more than thirty titles. The developer has released games for a number of major consoles that appeared during that period. Zombie Studios has made a name for itself in the recent past with Blacklight: Retribution. The game was originally released for PC in 2012 and has later been released for PlayStation 4. The game is free to play. Zombies Studios released the survival horror game Daylight in 2014.

In addition to the employees being acquired by Builder Box, the new studio will also receive the rights to Blacklight: Retribution. Furthermore, activities are taken over that remain unmentioned in the announcement. Zombie Studios founders retire.
