Developer Denies Verbal Battle With Bosses In Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
The various bosses in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided cannot be verbally defeated, Gameplay director Patrick Fortier said in an interview. A previous conversation with him has been misinterpreted. Sneaking can be used.
In an interview with website Eurogamer, Fortier indicates that his statements in an earlier interview have been misunderstood by many media. From Fortier’s comments in the July issue of the Official Xbox Magazine, many media outlets concluded that the various bosses the player encounters in Mankind Divided can be verbally passed over. However, that is not the case, says Fortier now. Discussion is part of the game; players can interact with and take advantage of computer-controlled characters in the game, but the bosses in the game can’t.
Stealth can be used in confrontation with bosses, says Fortier. He gives as an example the confrontation with the first boss from predecessor Deus Ex: Human Revolution. In the improved version of the game, which came on the market under the name The Director’s Cut in 2013, the first boss of the game could be tricked via stealth, after which he lost sight of the player. The player could then use objects in the map to attack the boss. In this way, players can also approach the boss fights in Mankind Divided, says Fortier. Mankind Divided will be released in the first half of 2016, for Windows, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. As with the predecessor, part of the development of the game is provided by Nixxes Software from Utrecht.
