Developer creates wireless receiver for modern controllers for NES
8bitdo, together with Analogue, has developed a receiver to connect modern controllers and gamepads, both wireless and wired, to a Nintendo Entertainment System, or NES. The gem is called Retro Receiver.
The receiver fits into the normal controller port of an NES or other console with a similar port, such as the Analogue developed Analogue Nt, a device compatible with the NES and the Japanese Famicom and the Famicom Disk System.
The Retro Receiver works with all 8Bitdo controllers and the controllers of the PS3, PS4, Wii Mote and Wii U Pro. The receiver connects via bluetooth. The whole thing gets enough energy from the controller port of the NES to maintain the connections. The Retro Receiver costs $19.99.
