Details on Crash Bandicoot 4 appear online
Activision is working on Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time for PlayStation and Xbox consoles. This is evident from images and a description of the game, which can be seen at a Taiwanese assessment body. The game was to be announced on June 22.
Images appearing on the physical console game’s packaging have been posted online by Gematsu. This shows that game studio Toys for Bob is making the new game. He was previously responsible for the Spyro Reignited trilogy. According to a description of the game, it takes place in 1998 on an island, where Crash encounters so-called Quantum Masks. Via a Quantum Rift, the mutated Tasmanian bandicoot then ends up in different times and dimensions.
Crash Bandicoot 4 is, as the title suggests, the fourth installment in the series. The first three volumes were released for Sony consoles between 1996 and 2000. Many more spin-offs of the game appeared after that, also for other platforms, but now, twenty years later, there is a real successor.
Game analyst Daniel Ahmad says that the game will be officially announced on June 22. Ahmad says there will be no Switch version. Whether the game will come to PC is not clear, the Taiwanese rating agency only sees the PlayStation and Xbox versions.
In 2017, a remaster of the first three games was re-released as the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane trilogy. With that, the games also appeared on platforms other than Sony’s PlayStation for the first time. The remaster also came out for the Nintendo Switch and PC.
