Destiny 2 will receive a new expansion titled Beyond Light on September 22. The game is also coming to Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Players who purchase the expansion for current consoles will receive a free upgrade to the next-gen versions.

In the Beyond Light expansion, the Guardians have a new destination: Europa, the frozen moon of Jupiter. A new force has sprung up in the ancient Pyramid spaceship over Europe, and a dark realm has risen beneath it, Bungie said. In addition to a new environment, Beyond Light also includes a new elemental power: Stasis. Bungie will announce more about this later in the summer. The expansion also includes a new six-person raid, the Deep Stone Crypt, which lies beneath the frozen tundra of Europe.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light will be released on September 22. The expansion costs 40 euros and there is also a combination with Season Pass for 50 euros. The new chapter will also be released at the end of this year for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X. The game will run on those consoles in 4k resolution at 60fps. Players who purchase the expansion for current consoles will be upgraded to the new versions.

Bungie is also announcing details about Season of Arrivals, the new Destiny 2 season that kicks off Tuesday. In it, the story in which the Pyramid ships are central is continued. During the new season, the first Pyramid ship will be seen on Io’s moon and that will set in motion a series of events that will unfold throughout the season and later in the expansion.

After Beyond Light, there will be two more expansions. Destiny 2: The Witch Queen will be released in 2021 and Destiny 2: Lightfall is planned a year later. Bungie announced all the details about the upcoming expansions and the new season in a live stream.
