An update to the Mobile Connect app to control iOS devices from Dell laptops has been released. Dell had already announced the update at the beginning of this year. The feature also allows users to exchange photos and videos directly with iOS devices.

The update adds mirroring and file sharing, according to the Mobile Connect changelog in the App Store. It concerns version 3.0.1 of the app for iOS. The feature has been working for Android phones for some time now. There are still limitations on iOS. For example, the exchange of documents and music is not possible.

Dell announced the feature early this year. Mobile Connect works via WiFi and Bluetooth. The software works on any XPS, Inspiron, Vostro and Alienware series laptops from the past two years. It comes by default on the laptop and does not require a download. The software has been working on Android phones for a few years now.
