Dell to ship new XPS 13 with 16GB DDR3 and 1TB SSD
Photos and specifications of the new XPS 13 can be seen on the Dell website for the United Arab Emirates. The ultrabook will be upgraded with Intel Skylake processors and can be equipped with 16GB of RAM and an SSD with a storage capacity of 1TB.
Although Dell has not yet announced the XPS 13 9350, the new model can already be seen on the Dell website of the United Arab Emirates. It shows that the ultrabook will ship with Windows 10 and will receive an upgrade to the Skylake generation of processors, with a choice of an Intel Core i7-6500U, i5-6200U or i3-6100U.
The RAM is up to 16GB DDR3. The current XPS 13 has a limit of 8GB, which is soldered to the motherboard. The new model will also be available with an m2 SSD with a maximum storage capacity of 1TB. The thin-edged 13.3″ display, dubbed “Infinity Edge” by Dell, will be retained. There is a choice of a touchscreen with a resolution of 3200×1800 pixels, or a matte full-HD display, as with the current version.
With a maximum thickness of 15mm and weight from 1.2kg, the dimensions and weight of the aluminum housing remain unchanged, as does the rest of the design. However, the battery capacity increases from 52 to 56Wh. New is the USB-C port with Thunderbolt 3 support.
Dell is expected to announce the new XPS 13 in the course of October, along with new versions of the XPS 12 and XPS 15. When the ultrabooks will appear in the Benelux and what they will cost is not yet known.
