Dell starts sales of XPS 13 Developer Edition with Ubuntu in Benelux – update

Dell has started selling the XPS 13 2015 Developer Edition in the Benelux. The laptop is equipped with Ubuntu 14.04.1 and is intended for developers. Unlike the Windows variants, there is only one configuration.

Few laptops come standard with Linux, but Dell has done this regularly with Developer Editions of laptops in the past and this also applies to the new XPS 13. The manufacturer equips the small and thin laptop with Ubuntu 14.04.1.

Dell offers a single configuration: with a Core i7-5500U processor, 8GB of memory and an SSD with a storage capacity of 512GB. The 13.3″ screen has 3200×1800 pixels and the Developer Edition model has a touchscreen. Delivery starts on April 30, the manufacturer reports on its site and the price is 1299 euros, but that is without VAT. price at 1572 euros.

Update, 13.15: There is also a cheaper version of the laptop that Dell does not label as Developer Edition, but does come with Ubuntu. This has a full HD screen, Core i5-5200U and 256GB SSD. The price of this model is 1029 euros including VAT.
