Dell Introduces Three New UltraSharp Monitors
Dell has expanded its line of UltraSharp monitors with three business models. These are models with 21.5″, 23″ and 27″ screens that are aimed at the business market and include web conferencing functionality.
The 21.5″ and 23″ models bear the designations UZ2215H and UZ2315H respectively, although it is not clear what the ‘Z’ stands for. Dell has never used the Z in its naming convention for UltraSharp models before. The 27″ monitor is called the UZ2715H.
All three models have IPS panels with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Furthermore, the screens have a response time of 8ms, a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and viewing angles of 178 degrees. The UZ2215H has a screen brightness of 250cd/m2, the other two models can be set slightly brighter with 300cd/m2. They also have two HDMI ports with support for MHL, Displayport and a duo of USB 3.0 ports.
With a 2-megapixel camera, omni-directional microphones and 5W speaker duo, the monitors can be used for business video conferencing. However, they cannot be adjusted in height, but they can tilt. US prices for the UZ2315H and U2715H are $300 and $450 respectively; of the UZ2215H, there is only the British price of 223 pounds, TFT Central noted. Euro prices are not yet known.
