Dell comes with G-series gaming laptops and clocks Core i9 CPU in Alienware at 5GHz
Dell announces a new series of gaming laptops, as a successor to the Inspiron Gaming 7000. From now on, there are several variants: G3, G5 and G7. Also comes the manufacturer with two new Alienware gamelaptops, including a model with a Core i9-8950HK, clocked at 5GHz.
In recent years, Dell sold a Gaming variant of its Inspiron 15 7000 laptop. That range is now being expanded with the introduction of the Dell G-series. From the G3 version comes a 15.6 “and a 17.3” model; the G5 and G7 are only available in 15.6 “versions The fastest video card is for all models the GeForce GTX 1060 Max-Q, in cheaper versions there is a GTX 1050 Ti or 1050.
Dell provides the laptops with the G-series of the Coffee Lake-H-processors which Intel announced on Tuesday.All variants are available with a Core i5-8300H-quadcore or Core i7-8750H-hexacore, but the G7 also comes in a version with the Core i9-8950HK with unlocked multiplier .
All laptops in the G-series have an ips-panel, with the G3-models that is a full-hd-screen, and the G5 and G7 are optional with a 4k screen.The battery capacity is the same with 56Wh for all laptops.Differences are further in appearance and in the finish of the housing.
Dell says from April some configurations of the G- sell laptops, later more should follow, and the manufacturer reports that in some markets the laptops with Ubuntu are available, but what those are is not yet clear. Europosters have not yet been announced.
Two new models appear under the Alienware brand name, which Dell retains for high-end gaming tablets: the Alienware 15 R5 MLK and the Alienware 17 R5 MLK. Both models can be supplied with the Intel Core i9-8950HK and Dell claims that the processor can run in the laptops with a turbo speed of 5GHz. That is an overclock of 200MHz compared to the maximum speed specified by Intel.
Both laptops are also available with the Core i7-8750H hexacore and the 15.6 “version can also be used with the Core i5-8300H quadcore Dell offers the gou laptops with different video cards: a Radeon RX 570 8GB, an overclocked GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or 1070 8GB, or a GTX 1080 8GB.
