Dell has released two monitors for graphics professionals. The U2713H model has a 27″ panel with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, while the 24″ U2413 has a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. Both monitors have an ah-ips panel with wide gamut support.

The Ultrasharp U2713H should not be confused with the U2713HM announced by Dell in August. While both monitors have a 27″ ah-ips panel with a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels, the HM version has an sRGB color gamut while this new model can cover 99 percent of the AdobeRGB color space, or 120 percent of sRGB. . According to TFTCentral is said to be the ah-ips panel from LG Display and may have LM270WQ3 as a type number.

Due to the wide gamut support, the U2713H can be regarded more as the successor to the U2711 model from 2010. Compared to this predecessor, the U2713H uses w-LEDs instead of ccfl backlight. Both 27″ models have 10bit color support, but the U2713H calculates internally at 14bit for the colors, while the U2711 has 12bit color processing. Dell has the screen calibrated at the factory, but can optionally supply an X-Rite i1 Pro colorimeter for screen calibration.

The U2713H also has connections for dl-dvi, hdmi, displayport 1.2 and there is a mini displayport connection. A 4-port USB hub is also integrated and there is an all-in-one slot for most types of memory cards. The screen can be tilted, rotated and adjusted in height both horizontally and vertically. On Dell’s Chinese website, showing the monitor for the first time turned up is listed at a price of 8999 yuan, or about 1093 euros.

Also new is the U2413. Like the U2713H above, the U2413 has wide gamut support and can therefore be seen as the successor to the U2410 and the newer U2412M, which are equipped with an ah-ips and e-ips panel respectively. The U2413 has a resolution of 1920 by 1200 pixels, like the U2713H, has a native contrast ratio of 1000:1 and uses w-LEDs for the backlight. The U2413 has a 14-bit lut and is factory calibrated. The price of this new 24″ model is approximately 670 euros.
