The French Deezer has expanded the functionality of its music streaming service. There are two new free services for personal radio stations: Flow and Playlist Radio. In addition, there is an app for OS X systems for music playback.

With the Flow service, Deezer users can create a radio station for their Android smartphone, tablet, or iOS device, which they can listen to for free and with no time limit. Deezer populates the radio station based on the user’s music collection and listening behavior. There is the restriction that the songs are played in random order and the user can skip a maximum of six songs.

In addition, there is the new Playlist Radio service, which creates a radio station from the user’s playlists, supplemented with recommendations from Deezer editors worldwide. This is also a mobile service, which does not require a paid subscription. Users can skip five numbers.

Finally, Deezer has received a revamped Radio component for its desktop and mobile service and an application for OS X users. The latter is still in the test phase and offers the possibility to control playback of both your own music collection and the Deezer collection with a single player. You can also use the playback buttons on the keyboard of MacBooks, for example.

Deezer for Mac will be officially released for Premium+ users later this year. Deezer is also working on a Windows version this year. The French Spotify competitor claims to have 5 million paid subscribers and 16 million monthly users. The collection amounts to 30 million songs.
