Dead Island 2 may be released in February 2023
The game Dead Island 2, announced in 2014, may get an official release on February 3 next year. This concerns unofficial information taken from the game’s product pages on the US version of Amazon.
These are new product pages for the PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X version of Dead Island 2 that went online for the first time on Amazon on Thursday. Currently there is no information about the release there, but the reliable Twitter account Wario64 reports that initially information could be found about placing pre-orders and that a release date of February 3, 2023 was mentioned. This is the Day 1 Edition of the game, so it is possible that the regular version will be released a little later. The Amazon pages also feature some images, such as the box art, in addition to some gameplay footage.
Wario64 also posts a screenshot from a detailed description of Dead Island 2. It revolves around a virus outbreak in Los Angeles that turns inhabitants into all kinds of zombies. The player takes on the role of a character who has already been bitten, but has more or less mastered the zombie tendencies. There’s talk of six unique characters to choose from, called Slayers, all of which have their own quirks and dialogue options and fully customizable skills. That will be necessary to make your way through the countless zombies, find out exactly what you are and what caused the outbreak.
Dead Island 2 is an FPS action game with RPG elements and was announced in 2014 during the then E3 trade show. Since then, several changes have occurred on the development side, which has led to some delays. The game is published by Deep Silver and now developed by Dambuster Studios. Earlier this year, the publisher announced that the game is in active development and an analyst suggested Previously, Dead Island 2 will be released in March 2023.
