Dead Island 2 is still in production according to THQ Nordic Nordic
THQ Nordic is still working on Dead Island 2. The publisher announced this during a financial presentation about the quarterly figures. The game’s publisher, which was announced in 2014, did not reveal anything about the game for a long time.
During its quarterly financial presentation, the company briefly showed a slide with all upcoming releases, including Dead Island 2. The company doesn’t reveal much about the zombie game, only that it is still being worked on. A new logo has also been designed for the game.
Publisher Deep Silver introduced the game in 2014. The development of the game had several problems in recent years. After the developer of the first installment in the series, Techland, started working on Dying Light, Yager took on the sequel. Three years later, Deep Silver pulled Yager from the project due to a difference of opinion, Gameindustry.biz reports. Sumo Digital then took over the project from Yager after which it remained silent around the zombie game.
During the same presentation, THQ Nordic announced that it is working on 80 games, of which 32 have already been announced but 48 have not yet been presented. One of those unannounced games is a ‘triple A’ title from 4A Studios, known from the Metro series, among other things. Earlier this week, it was announced that THQ Nordic is acquiring game studio Piranha Bytes.
